Dear professor Stemberg

My name is Richard Beard I was born in Dominican Republic, but I grew up here in the United States my life here in the U.S has been mixed some good and some bad. As I was growing up and going to school and even when I finished high school, I witness the hardships that my family faced with money since we were low incomed. We had to ask for government help and I also witness my family working in jobs that they didn’t want, One thing that my family has always told me as they started migrating here to U.S one by one is to Work hard and concentrate in school so you can get a better job and live more freely and not be constrained by anybody and also for you can have money so you can travel and do whatever you want. I took that to heart and always tried my best in different activities and my best in school which I appreciated because now I’m a black belt in martial arts and learn different activities which also gave me the boost so I can have my goal of becoming a game designer what drove me to become a game designer is that ever since I was a child and growing up until now I’ve been playing games for most of my life and It has always amazed me that the designs and music and functions to make a game work. Recently I have been trying to work towards my goal by creating game designs on my computer which I have been working on it like for 2 months now I’m very proud of what I’ve done so far and since I’m currently in college I have been learning more, more every day, I also have been experimenting in my free time with a music making program that I’ve seen longtime friends of mine use this too its been fun learn this new skill and I also have been working full time as security guard which has help get some income on the side of going to college which has help me and my family out. But going back to my goals and dreams of becoming a game designer I see myself with a nice house and updated 2019 Audi car with the money that I make I would also help my family that are the closest to me that is my mom, my dad and my grandmother for they can stop working in jobs that they don’t like, and have financial freedom like me.
